Designing for an international beer festival

The Rainbow Project 2016 was an international collaboration between craft brewers in the UK and New Zealand. As the founders of the project, Siren Craft Brew asked Valiant to design the identity for it. The design needed to celebrate their brand and the beer – we couldn't wait to start.

Objective

Seven brewers in the UK teamed up with seven brewers in New Zealand with each pair producing a limited edition beer inspired by one of the colours of the rainbow. Events were held by each of the breweries with Siren hosting theirs at their own brewery.

The identity – used across all promo materials – needed to clearly promote the Rainbow Project logo as a standalone brand as well as incorporate the multi-coloured theme. Just as importantly, the event identity needed to be Siren through and through, using their fantastic branding and making this event one not to be missed.

Results

The result brought us on a journey across the sea. The background graphic guides travelers through Siren’s core beers whilst the mythical tentacles of the Kraken pull the willing partakers in. Posters, beer guides, T-shirts and online ads promoted the event, which sold out in a matter of days along with all the mixed cases.
