We are delighted to introduce a preview of the new exciting branding and packaging design for Twisted Nose gin. We don’t usually post work within our news but have had loads of requests from people wanting to see the new bottle design and rebranding we have created for the brilliant team at Winchester Distillery. This has been an amazing project to work on and one of our proudest moments.
Valiant was appointed to create new branding and bottle design for an iconic gin, distilled by the Winchester Distillery. Their flagship gin is produced using locally grown watercress which grows in the clear, chalk streams of Hampshire. Our brief was to capture the provenance and place; the light play of the rippling water, the green of the watercress and the sparkle of the peppery taste.
It was already our favourite gin but now we believe it is presented in a design that is worthy of its flavour. The branding was simplified into a typographical mark. The signature icon has been embossed in the base of the bottle along with a proud “Made in Hampshire”. The bottle design has evolved using 3D renders, 3D printing and pushed the bottle manufacturers to create one of the most complex products they’ve ever produced. The glass is decorated with silver foil. Finished with a solid oak cork and a beautifully foiled tamper seal.
It is one of the most exciting projects the Valiant team has worked on. It’s not often you get the opportunity to create something special for a product you already love. And to be trusted by the distillery’s founder and owner Paul Bowler to do what we do best, with no compromises, was a designer’s dream”.
